The Beauty Of Gymnastics

Gymnastics is all about flexibility of the body. A true gymnast has to have a very well toned and flexible body and should be disciplined and totally dedicated. Artistic gymnastics forms a part of men and women gymnastics. Both men and women gymnasts perform different events. Men gymnastic champions perform various events in gymnastics.

Women gymnasts compete on uneven vaults and bars. They competed on rings, high bars and parallel bars in the USSR for the first time in 1950. All these events push the strength and flexibility of a gymnast to a particular limit. At the transnational level, championships are of optional and compulsory categories. In the compulsory event, the gymnast performs on a fixed particular apparatus. In the optional routine the gymnast performs as per personal preference. Gymnasts usually perform on both of these categories at Gymnastic events.

Gymnastic performances on uneven bars can be breathtakingly beautiful. These bars are also called asymmetric bars. In this process, the gymnast rotates two horizontal bars at different elevations. Generally, the height of the bars is fixed. There can be some adjustment in the width. Gymnasts usually perform very intricate and complicated moves on the asymmetric bars.

Gymnasts can use leather grips while performing. This ensures a stiff grip on the bar and protects the hands from bruises or cuts. Sometimes the gymnast makes the grips wet by using water and chalk to remove friction which and reduce the possibility of a slip

Uneven bar can be mounted with the help of springboard. In gymnastics, the gymnast usually performs choreographed routines within a fixed time span. The entire process consists of leaps, aerobatic techniques. These performances are done on a beam with a pad on it. The standard of apparatus is set by an assembly of transnational gymnasts. This standard is common to Olympic and other important events.

Gymnastic performances are very fascinating to watch and draw in big crowds at international events.
